Creating a Budget Friendly Play Bin for my Dwarf Hamsters 🐹

I decided it was time to spruce up Laverne & Shirley’s play bin area.

They no longer live in the same enclosure- Shirley was bullying Laverne, which is interesting because Shirley is the sweet hamster and Laverne is much more apt to bite… but maybe because she has gotten used to defending herself?

However, they do share a play area (although not at the same time). I also often connect their play area to one of their enclosures using hamster tunnels so they can enjoy exploring it on their own at night.

In order to create my budget friendly hamster play bin I have been collecting clean, small boxes for the past few weeks specifically for hamster use! While there are lots of great products to buy for your hamster (I personally just splurged on some gorgeous hamster foraging items from Europe I hope get soon!) I think many hamsters are very happy to enjoy the simple pleasure of exploring small nooks and crannies, sprinkled with snacks.

I spent $0 on this hamster play bin and I think (I hope!) my dwarf hamsters are really loving it!
